AWARDS

The IPANZ Gen-i Public Sector Excellence Awards recognise and reward outstanding performances and work achievements of organisations and project teams in the New Zealand public sector.

The Awards showcase and highlight the significant contribution of the wider public sector to meeting the needs of New Zealand and New Zealanders. They recognise and promote excellence in terms of vision, innovation and the achievement of results, and encourage continuous improvement in services to New Zealanders.

The Awards reflect the spirit of service in the wider public sector and celebrate excellence across six award categories:

  • Improving Public Value through Business Transformation
  • Working Together for Better Services
  • Crown - Māori Relationships
  • Networked Government
  • Public Sector Communications
  • Improving Performance through Leadership Excellence

The Prime Minister's Award for Public Sector Excellence will be awarded to one of the winners of the Award categories. This Award will recognise outstanding achievement and sustained commitment to excellence. The judges will consider evidence of vision, innovation and results in public sector management as well as the criteria relating to the specific category award.

Nominated projects and initiatives will be assessed for excellence in terms of:

Nominations are invited from organisations in the wider public sector, including:

  • Central government departments
  • Local government organisations
  • Crown entities
  • State-owned Enterprises
  • Tertiary education institutions in the state sector
  • Offices of Parliament
  • Public Finance Act Fourth Schedule Organisations
